Jungheinrich

Jungheinrich is a premier global manufacturer of material handling equipment and forklifts, with 12 production plants worldwide. Their extensive portfolio features high-quality electric forklifts designed to tackle any warehouse and intralogistics challenge.

With direct sales companies in 42 countries and partnerships in 80, Jungheinrich solidifies its leadership in the industry. Transitioning from diesel and petrol-powered forklifts to electric models is crucial for Jungheinrich's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.

Challenge

Jungheinrich strives to fulfill its climate neutrality goal by 2050. Indeed, a significant step toward this goal is replacing diesel and LPG-powered forklifts with electric models. However, the company faces major challenges during this transition. Specifically, customers worry about charging time because they assume forklifts operate all day.

Pains

Jungheinrich experiences difficulties convincing customers to adopt the new technology. Moreover, customers hesitate because they believe forklifts run constantly and lack downtime for charging. Consequently, this perception slows electric forklift sales and hinders progress toward climate neutrality goals.

The perception of MHE utilisation time is often far greater than reality. The Trusted device allows us to dispel those misconceptions.

Solution

To address this challange, Shihlin Electric partnered with Honghong Electronic, an official Trusted Cahnnel Partner, to implement a reliable transport monitoring solutions.

Consequently, Honghong recommended the Trusted T7 tracking and monitoring device, one of the world’s most robust IoT devices.

This device provided real-time monitoring throughout the shipment and tracked vibration levels and shock impacts. The T7 devices were securely mounted on the transformers before transport. Furthermore, this simple step ensured accurate data collection from the start.

Outcome

With insights from Trusted A/S, Jungheinrich mapped charging opportunities for customer forklifts. This information empowered the global Sales Energy Experts team to sell electric forklifts more effectively. Through testing and dialogue, Jungheinrich and Trusted developed a kit that includes a user manual and a data logger.

The kit helps demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of electric forklifts, supporting Jungheinrich’s climate neutrality goal by 2050.

The Trusted device allows us to identify battery charging intervals that the end-users were not previously aware of, and these additional layers of detail and data add value to our customers giving them confidence and trust in the accuracy of our solution.
